About me:

I was born in Trabzon, Turkey in 1961 and grew up in Istanbul. I started out playing Mandolin and Accordion in fist grade.

I first became interested in playing bass upon hearing records by Jaco Pastorius, Scott LaFaro, Charlie Haden, Ray Brown, Bill Evans, Miles Davis, and Charlie Parker.

More recently I play played in Europe with different jazz groups.

In 1995 I made a move from Istanbul to Palm Beach, Florida with my wife Gul. I've been performing in South Florida since then as a freelance bassist. For the last 5 years I've done art shows almost every weekend ( as an artist) in season, so I'm not playing music as much as I did before. I spend most summer times in Istanbul making recordings and performing at jazz concerts.

 Some performances:

With Group Telvin: "Jazz Made in Turkey" in Lincoln Center NY.NY. with  Joe Lovano.  North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland , Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, In Germany,  Holland and Istanbul many Jazz festivals.
